“Thriller” Jacket Sells For $1.8 Million

Remember that red jacket the King of Pop Michael Jackson wore in the mini-movie music video “Thriller”?

Maybe you (like me) even bought a “faux” Thriller jacket because it was the cool thing to wear.

The difference between the one you have in storage and the MJ original is $1.8 million dollars.

According to Darren Julien, president and CEO of Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, the jacket was purchased Sunday by Milton Verret, a commodities trader from Austin. As in Texas.

Verret says the jacket will be sent on tour and used as a fundraising tool for children’s charities.

A portion of the sale price will go to the Shambala Preserve, a big cat sanctuary caring for two tigers Jackson once owned.
