Backstage With Author Paul Young For ‘The Shack’

The Shack hits theaters this Friday!

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with author Paul Young in this backstage interview to talk about The Shack, a Christian-based film based on Young’s 2007 novel of the same name.

Young explained what inspired him to write his book, how he felt when he found out his book was being adapted into a movie and more!

“It was never on my bucket list to become a published author,” said Young. “The inspiration of this was my wife saying, ‘Someday, would you a gift to our kids and put in one place how you think, because you think outside the box.’”

Synopsis:

The Shack takes us on a father’s uplifting spiritual journey. After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips spirals into a deep depression causing him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Despite his doubts, Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa. Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever.

The Shack hits theaters this Friday, March 3rd. Check out the full interview with Young below:
