Gabrielle Union Gives Advice For Dealing With Family During the Holidays

The holiday comedy-drama Almost Christmas arrives in theaters this weekend and deals with the stresses of bringing a family who doesn’t get along together for the holidays. In an interview with BackstageOL’s Dave Morales, Gabrielle Union provided her own advice for getting through the holiday season and having to deal with family drama.

“I generally suggest drinking,” she joked. “It’s helpful. You’re going to get a lot of stuff off your chest.”

“Just gotta roll with it,” she continued seriously. “Don’t sweat the small stuff. You know, because we go back into the holidays with all the other stuff over the years we’ve never resolved, whether that be favoritism or somebody loaned me money and never got it back…all those hopes and dreams that maybe never got fulfilled, we take all back into the holidays. Let it go.”

“Just enjoy each other ‘cause we’re not all promised tomorrow,” she added.

Check out the official synopsis for the film below:

A new comedy from writer/director David E. Talbert (Baggage Claim) and producer Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man series, This Christmas), Almost Christmas tells the festive story of a beloved patriarch who asks his family for one gift this holiday season: to get along.
