Video Game Releases – July 12, 2011

It is a HUGE week for video games. The HIGHLY anticipated video games NCAA Football by EA Sports and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 video game by Electronic Arts are both being released.

NCAA Football 12
EA Sports – XBOX 360 & Playstation 3

The latest installment of the NCAA Football franchise from EA Sports has Alabama running back and 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, Jr. on the cover and has brought the “team spirit” factor to a whole new level.

New features include:

  • Additional pregame entrances and team specific crowd and cheerleader chants that bring the game right into your living room.
  • A coach mode where players call call plays and make pre-play adjustments throughout the game.  This feature has also been added to the Dynasty Mode were players can start as either an offensive or defensive coordinator and be promoted within the ranks of the organization from season to season.
  • Field grass rendering in 3-D
  • The ability to create custom NCAA conferences
  • Crowd noise within the game adjusts based on stadium capacity and team’s success

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2
Electronic Arts – Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, Playstation 3, XBOX 360 & Wii

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” is the second installment of a two-part video game series based of the final installment of the Harry Potter franchise of the same name.

The game continues Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s quest to destroy the remaining Horcruxes and to defeat Lord Voldemort for the final time.

New features include:

  • The gameplay progresses linearly and will not include side missions.
  • The ability “Apparate” gives players the ability to teleport in and out of battle sequences as a new form of defense.
  • Players controlled by third person include Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Minerva McGonagall, Seamus Finnigan, Ginny Weasley and Molly Weasley.

Reefer Madness is the second downloadable content pack for the game L.A. Noire.

From Rockstar Games: In L.A. Noire, when a tip from an informant leads Detective Cole Phelps and his Vice desk partner Roy Earle to a local L.A. drug dealer, a deadly shootout ensues and they suddenly find themselves in the throes of one of the city’s biggest narcotics rings.
