‘Blade Runner 2049’ Trailer With Ryan Gosling And Harrison Ford Is A Stunner

“Your story isn’t over yet. There is still a page left.”

Those of the final lines in the breathtaking official trailer for Blade Runner 2049. It’s been 35 years since filmmaker Ridley Scott and star Harrison Ford wowed audiences with their adaptation of one of Philip K. Dick’s seminal sci-fi classics Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The 1982 neo-noir science fiction release Blade Runner may have not have been a box-office hit, but it has attained cult status due to its stark visuals and themes.

The times may have changed but Harrison Ford is back as Rick Deckard, one of the original “Blade Runners” is back! It was his job to hunt down genetically engineered replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from adult humans. The plot of the sequel is still underwraps, but this is the official logline from Warner Brothers and Columbia Pictures:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Ridley Scott won’t be assuming the director’s chair this time, however. But he has left the project in good hands with Denis Villenueve, who was recently nominated for Best Director for his film Arrival. Joining Gosling and Ford we have Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Ana De Armas, and Dave Bautista.

Blade Runner 2049 will debut in theaters this fall on October 6th. Check out the trailer and let BackstageOL.com know what you think!
