This week Fast 8 got a title change and became The Fate of the Furious (why not The F8 of the Furious?). The title is a nice change, for sure, and gave a little indication of what direction the franchise would be racing towards. Now we have the first official trailer and it offers plenty of car-nage and the introduction of a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) that seems to be pulling the strings of one Domenic Toretto (Vin Diesel).
The eighth installment looks to pick up right where the last pic left off, which is to say Universal looks to have another billion-dollar hit on its hands. We’ll find out when The Fate of the Furious opens globally on April 14th. Watch the trailer and behold its awesomeness.
Coming back from Furious 7 we have Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell. Joining Theron, new cast members include Helen Mirren (all hail the Queen!) and Scott Eastwood. F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) slides into the driver’s seat as director.
