Preview: James Franco & Seth Rogen Star in ‘The Interview’

Warning: View Discretion Is Advised

Over the weekend we finally got a preview to James Franco and Seth Rogen’s highly anticipated comedy The Interview.

The Interview follows Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen), two American journalist who run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show Skylark Tonight. When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them to take out Kim Jong-un.

The film has recently received a large amount of media exposure due to its controversial portrayal of the North Korean leader. When Kim Jong-Un reportedly found out about the film in June, he threatened a “resolute and merciless” response against the United States if the film wasn’t banned.

Now, since The Interview will be anything but banned, a Pyongyang representative has declared that Kim Jong Un will likely watch the movie. Rogen, who has stayed out of the political controversy the film has ignited, simply tweeted, “I hope he likes it!!”

There’s one thing for sure.  Unless Kim Jong-Un has thick skin and a newfound love for American satirical comedy, that won’t be the case.  But who cares what he thinks?  Are you excited about Rogen and Franco’s latest release?

The Interview opens in theaters Christmas Day.
