Tom Hanks to Return as Robert Langdon in Dan Brown’s ‘Inferno’

Tom Hanks will return as Robert Langdon for the film version of Dan Brown’s latest bestselling novel, Inferno.  Released in May, Inferno is the fourth novel in Brown’s series with Robert Langdon as the main character, a Harvard professor with a flair for historical investigation.

Hanks previously starred in two film as Dan Brown’s character Robert Langdon: The Da Vinci Code(2006) and Angels And Demons (2009), both of which were directed by Ron Howard.  The film’s script will be written by David Koepp, who also wrote Angels and Demons.

The story of Inferno finds Robert Langdon and Sienna Brooks in Florence, Italy “embroiled in a conspiracy that manages to incorporate Dante, bioterrorism, and the Hagia Sophia into one roiling thriller,” according to the Moviefone Blog.

Look for Inferno to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
