After test footage of a possible Deadpool film was released, fans pushed to see the merc with a mouth on the big screen. One of those fans being Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds often expressed his love of the character and hoped the dream of reprising the role would come to be. People couldn’t stop talking about the test footage and how it truly expressed how great of a character Deadpool is.

Fast forward to July 12th, 2015 to Comic Con’s Hall H where stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, and TJ Miller stand in front thousand of comic book fans. Reynolds spoke to the crowd saying, “One year ago to almost today, some a—hole in here leaked that footage, and that’s why we’re standing here…You guys, the internet, fans, you guys made the studio do this. You bent their arms behind their backs, twisted their frigging necks, and here we are.” The wish of many  Marvel followers came true, Deadpool was finally happening.

Fans at the panel got the first look at the films trailer, and buzz grew stronger than it ever did. Some would say, Deadpool stole Comic Con. Some lucky viewers saw the leaked footage of the trailer but it was quickly pulled by FOX Studios. For those that couldn’t attend the convention or the panel, they had to wait.

Now its finally here! Ryan Reynolds went on Conan to release the Red Band trailer of the highly anticipated Marvel film and the buzz is still alive. Reynolds talked about how the film came to be, but Conan said he already knew who Deadpool is saying, “He once saved my life.”
