Justin Bieber Teases 11 New Songs

Justin Bieber’s last album Journals was a flop commercially, with none of the singles reaching Top 10 on the Hot 100 (“Heartbreaker” was close but only peaked a No.13), but the 20-year-old singer is ready to release what sounds very much like “Journals 2.0.”

After sharing a tweet that read, “Great night in the studio,” Bieber took to Instagram and teased an entire album worth of brand-new songs. He didn’t offer any information behind the music, just 11 blurry studio videos with 15-seconds of previously unheard tracks playing in the background.

While most of the tracks are untitled, Bieber did caption the first video “Cold Waters,” which appears to be the title of the accompanying song. The track includes lines like, “Try to bring me down… cause they got nothing nice to say.”

All of the recently-shared songs have a strong R-and-B sound (much like the music on Journals) with a focus on relationships. One track appears to be about a break-up, with a line including, “I’m moving on,” which could be a reference to his longtime on-off girlfriend Selena Gomez, while another song appears to feature vocals from Chris Brown. Justin was recently pictured recording new music with Chris, but the pair hadn’t yet spoken about the collaboration.

Whether or not the new tracks are to form an album has not been confirmed, but you can preview the songs below.
