Katy Perry sings and dances poolside with friends to Carly Rae Jespen’s “Call Me Maybe”
Carly Rae Jespen’s “Call Me Maybe” has been spoofed again by a famous celebrity. This time it is “California gurl” Katy Perry.
Jespen’s “Call Me Maybe” became an internet phenomenon last month when Justin Bieber, Selina Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and Big Time Rush recorded their own spoof video and uploaded it to YouTube. To date the video has over 33 million views.
Bieber found the song after hearing it on the radio during a trip back to his hometown of Stratford, Ontario, last December. Bieber enjoyed the track so much that he decided to tweet his appreciation of the song and made sure his manager Scott Braun became aware of Carly’s talent.
Perry decided that it was now her turn to spoof the song that has garnered the #1 spot in the U.K. The video shows the “California gurl” and her friends singing and dancing poolside at the singers home during the Coachella Music Festival.
Perry’s version is definitely nowhere as good as Bieber’s but it also isn’t suppose to be.
