Kid Cudi Responds to 18-Year Old Fan’s Death

Kid Cudi has responded to the death of 18-year old fan Ben Breedlove who died of a heart attack in Austin, Texas on Christmas night.

The week before his death Breedlove posted a series of videos on his popular YouTube channel about a vision he had of his death.  The vision Breedlove saw had paramedics reviving him at his school while he stood in a white room, wearing a suit and joined by Kid Cudi, his favorite rapper.

“I then looked in the mirror, I was proud of myself of my entire life, everything I have done. It was the BEST feeling,” Breedlove wrote.

After hearing of his death, Kid Cudi, who’s real name is Scott Mescudi, responded on his blog:

“Iam so sad about Ben Breedlove. I watched the video he left for the world to see, and him seeing me in detail, in his vision really warmed my heart. I broke down, Iam to tears because I hate how life is so unfair. This has really touched my heart in a way I cant describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much. Life is really fucked up sometimes, but I know Ben is at Peace, and I hope he gets a chance to sit and talk with my Dad. We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me. To Ben’s family, you raised a real hero, he’s definately mine. You have my love.”

-Scott Mescudi

Breedlove has truly captured the hearts of his viewers worldwide.  The Austin American-Stateman’s obituary for Breedlove described the passion he had for his audience:

“Through his brilliance with maneuvering the capabilities of YouTube, Ben has left a message for his generation. In the weeks prior to his death, he had faced some scary situations with his health, but had been given an amazing gift that he was determined to share; first with us, his family, and then, not surprisingly (and generously) with his YouTube audience.”
