Melanie Amaro, the 19 year old from Sunrise, Florida has the X FACTOR!
After months of competing for the biggest prize in television history, Amaro beat out Josh Krajcik of Wooster, Ohio in the final two.
The other top 3 finisher, Chris Rene had been eliminated earlier in the show.
The star studded finale featured performances by Justin Bieber, 50 Cent, Leona Lewis, Stevie Wonder, Pitbull and Ne-Yo.
Amaro, speechless after being told she had won the $5 million dollar recording contract and starring role in a Pepsi commercial, screamed “Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.”
Each of the final 12 contestants were mentored by the judges LA reid, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. Amaro’s mentor was Cowell, who said of his victorious singer “I want to say, ‘America, thank you for giving this girl an opportunity.'”
