Nicki Minaj Sued for Short NBA All-Star Weekend Performance

Rapper Nicki Minaj is being hit with a lawsuit for breaking her contract by failing to show up to an event on time and for giving a shortened performance.

Back on February 19, 2011, at the NBA All-Star event, IMP Entertainment paid the hip hop singer to perform for one hour at Hollywood’s Siren Studios alongside Drake and Lil Wayne. However, she was 90 minutes late and only performed a 30 minute set on stage, according to the documents filed in Manhattan Supreme Court in New York City.

Cahuenga, Inc. filed the suit for IMP Entertainment and stated that Minaj was paid over $50,000 to cover her fees and expenses for the event. However, her shortened performance “defeated the entire purpose of the agreement.” The company wants its money back for the expenses as well as unspecified damages.

A representative for Minaj has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
