The flying tomato is no more!
On Wednesday December 18th professional snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White decided to clip off his trademark red hair that previously earned him the nick name ‘Flying Tomato’; donating it to Locks of Love which provides hairpieces to disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
In a pre-haircut interview White nervously stated “I have been thinking about this for a while, it’s Only Hair. But it’s for a good cause so I wanna do it. Somebody needs it more than I do.”
Funny thing is, the professional skateboarder didn’t tell anyone he was doing it, adding, “I haven’t told anyone I’m doing this. I’m just gonna show up and mind-freak people.”
This is another good deed done by someone who believes in giving back. Not only did Shaun sacrifice his trademark hair, but he did it knowing that there was someone who needed it more than he did.
If I must say so myself that is a class act move by Mr. White.
