TBS has cancelled George Lopez’s “Lopez Tonight” after only two seasons on the air.

Just last year TBS had asked Lopez to move his time slot to from 10pm to11pm CST in order to accomodate for Conan O’Brien’s new show “Conan”.  Since then his viewership dropped 40%, averaging only 546,000 viewers per night.  In contrast” Conan” averages over 1.1 million viewers per night.

So what’s next for George?

It is possible that he will run for Mayor of Los Angeles within the next eight years.  On “Piers Morgan Tonight”  he said, “This is a great city, and it’s my city.  “I believe that there are certain things that could be taken care of that you don’t need a strong political background in.  The architecture downtown is beautiful and people live here, but they don’t have a pride in Los Angeles that they did years ago, when I was growing up.”
