“Sesame Street” Gets New Muppet For Hunger Special

Sesame Street's new character Lily

PBS’s Sesame Street is getting a new Muppet on Sunday for their special that talks to children about poverty and hunger.

The new character Lily, a seven year old impoverished child, will visit a food pantry to donate her time and talk to viewers about her insecurity of not knowing whether her family will have enough food to eat.

It has not been reported whether Lily will be a regular on the show or only a guest.

Sunday’s episode “Growing Hope Against Hunger” will be hosted by country superstar Brad Paisley.
