(EndPlay Staff Reports) – Singer Joe Jonas, former “American Idol” star Taylor Hicks, and chef Rocco Dispirito will be among cast members when FOX launches its celebrity dating show “The Choice.”
“The Choice,” patterned after NBC’s vocalist contest “The Voice,” features four celebrity bachelors who compete for the bachelorettes gathered behind their spinning chairs. First the women will vie for their attention. Then, the men will swing around in their chairs to pick the date. If two men swing around and both choose the same woman, they then compete for the date.
Entertainment Weekly reported that FOX has set the complete list of celebrity contestants. Along with Jonas, Hicks and Dispirito, there’s actor Dean Cain and fashion model Tyson Beckford. Also listed is Jersey Shore stars Pauly D and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, TV personality Rob Kardashian and former NFL star Warren Sapp.
Female celebrities include actress Carmen Electra and model Hope Dworaczyk.
Five episodes will feature male celebrities while the sixth will feature female celebrities.
Taping has already started as Entertainment Weekly reported Jonas, Cain and Beckford were among the hot picks.
FOX previously announced that Cat Deeley, host of “So You Think You Can Dance,” will also host “The Choice.”
The show is the brainchild of FOX alternative series president Mike Darnell. He is heralding it as an in-studio dating show going back to the days of “The Dating Game,” though with spinning chairs instead of a wall.
