‘True Bloods’ Deborah Ann Woll Will Star As Karen Page In ‘Daredevil’

Deborah Ann Woll, best known for playing Jessica in HBO’s True Blood, has been cast to play the female lead Karen Page in Marvel and Netflix’s upcoming Daredevil.

Netflix has picked up the 13-episode series, along with four more Marvel characters that include Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, and a miniseries for The Defenders. Marvel Television and ABC Studios are on board to produce.

The drama will be based on the Marvel comic, which illustrates Karen Page as the longtime love interest of Daredevil. The character, created by Stan Lee, was introduced in the first issue of Daredevil in 1964, where she served as a secretary for the law firm of Daredevil’s alter ego, Matt Murdock, at Nelson & Murdoch.

Page eventually learns that Murdoch, who will be played by Boardwalk Empire’s Charlie Cox, is a crime-fighting hero by night.  She will join the previously cast Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson (Matt Murdock’s friend and legal partner), and Rosario Dawson in an unknown role.

In addition to her new role as Karen Page, Woll’s upcoming projects include Meet Me in Montenegro and Forever.

With production underway in New York City, Daredevil is set to premiere sometime in 2015 on Netflix.
