Brad Pitt Attacked on ‘Maleficent’ Red Carpet

Celebrity harasser Vitalii Sediuk has been taken into police custody after jumping onto the red carpet during the premiere of Maleficent Wednesday night and punching Brad Pitt in the face.

“At around 7:30 p.m., Brad Pitt was at the El Capitan Theatre on the red carpet when a male jumped over the barricade and made contact with him,” an LAPD spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

Witnesses claim they saw a man jump over the barrier in the fan area, approach Pitt and attempted to punch or slap him in the face. Sediuk was quickly taken down by security and escorted away in handcuffs.

The 25-year-old harasser is currently being held at the LAPD’s Hollywood station for suspicion of misdemeanor battery with a bail of $20,000.

Pitt was not injured from the altercation and continued to greet fans alongside wife Angelina Jolie.

This is not Sediuk’s first attempt at harassing celebrities. In 2012, Will Smith slapped Sediuk after he attempted to kiss the actor at the Moscow premiere of Men in Black 3, had crawled inside of America Ferrera’s dress during a red carpet event at the Cannes Film Festival, showed up to last year’s Oscars wearing a Bjork inspired swan dress and stormed the stage during Adele’s Grammy acceptance speech.
