Chris Brown Released From Jail

As of 12:01 Monday morning, singer Chris Brown has been released from a Los Angeles County jail, says L.A Sheriff’s deputy Tony Moore.

Brown had been in police custody since mid-March after being arrested due to an expulsion from a court- ordered rehab sentence for violating facility rules. A judge had ordered the singer to remain in jail after he admitted that he had violated his probation by getting in to an altercation outside of a hotel in Washington, D.C.

On May 9th, Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin had sentenced the singer to one year in jail. Brown had received credit for 234 days of time already served in jail and court-ordered rehab as well as credit for good behavior, leaving him with 131 days to serve, but he had been expected to be released much sooner.

Shortly after his release, the R&B singer tweeted, “Humbled and Blessed…Back to the music and fans…Thank you GOD.”

Browns probation had been extended until January 23, 2015, and is required to submit to random drug testing three times a week, partake in psychiatric counseling twice a week and attend outpatient therapy session at least two times a week. The singer must also complete the remains of the 1,000 hours of community service he sentenced to after his probation was revoked following a car accident in August.

Brown is due back in court August 13th for a progress report.
