Emma Stone To Star In ‘Cabaret’ Broadway

The Amazing Spiderman 2 actress Emma Stone is heading to make her Broadway debut as the Berlin club singer Sally Bowles in Cabaret.

Stone had initially been tappedth through February 1, 2015, and will replace Michelle Williams, who made her debut in the role of the showgirl when the revival opened at Studio 54 in April. Williams’ production wraps up on November 9th.

The Broadway play, based on a book by Christopher Isherwood, is set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power. It centers on the world of the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around a young English performer who begins a relationship with an American writer, all while a zealous Master of Ceremonies commands the action at the Kit Kat Klub.

Directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall, the production will star Alan Cumming (who currently stars in the show opposite of Williams as the Emcee), Linda Emond, Danny Burstein, Bill Heck, Aaron Krohn and Gayle Rankin.

Stone will soon be seen starring opposite of Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton and Naomi Watts in Birdman. The film premieres October 17th.
