Jeremy Renner: ‘I’m Being Extorted By My Estranged Wife’

Jeremy Renner and Sonni Pacheco’s custody battle for 2-year-old daughter Ava just got even more challenging.

According to newly released court documents obtained by TMZ, Renner and Pacheco’s roommate, Kristoffer Winters, declares that Pacheco only married the Avengers star in order to acquire a green card and financial stability. He continues claiming that Renner’s estranged wife threatened to extort the actor with explicit videos if he didn’t assist her.

“I heard Sonni say at least five or six times when we were together at the Franklin house that Jeremy should be nice to her and not fight her on green card or money issues or else she would release intimate videos of him to TMZ,” the documents state. TMZ replied stating that they “never spoke with her” and that they “wouldn’t post such videos.”

Renner explains in the legal documents that despite the allegations towards Pacheco, he insists that he doesn’t believe “Sonni is a bad person or bad parent,” but upholds she “exercises bad judgment.” He describes that Pacheco once forgot to check to see if anyone was at home before allegedly leaving their daughter at home alone for 15 minutes.

“It is also my understanding that upon learning Ava was home alone, Sonni remained out with her friends while [Winters] rushed home to Ava,” the documents read. “I was extremely disappointed with Sonni and distressed that this occurred…This event and Sonni’s reaction to it was a significant turning point in our relationship.”

Jeremy Renner and Sonni Pacheco split in December after just 10 months of marriage last year. Renner is seeking joint legal and physical custody of Ava.
