Transformers Are Back: Review AND Interviews With The Cast

Directed by Michael Bay, it’s the latest in the series of “Transformers” movies…”Transformers: Dark of the Moon”.

Let’s start out by saying the 3D effects are AWESOME! If you are a big fan of this series, you’ll love it. If you are relatively new to all things “Transformers”, you’ll find this one much easier to follow along than previous installments.

It’s an all star cast with Shia LaBeouf returning as Autobots confidant Sam Witwicky. It should be noted this is LaBeouf’s last appearance in the franchise. Frances McDormand, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Malkovich and even Leonard Nimoy’s voice (Sentinel Prime) all round out the film’s cast of characters.

Ladies be warned- Patrick Dempsey might be “McDreamy” on television, but in this movie he’s more “McMeany”. He plays the role of villain to perfection.

Sam’s current girlfriend, played by British actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is SO good, fans won’t wonder what happened to Megan Fox. Trust me.

The story is set up by fueling the “conspiracy theory” about NASA’s supposed cover-up of the lunar landing in 1969. Even astronaut Buzz Aldrin makes a cameo to lend “credence” to this plot. That introduces evil Sentinel Prime (Leonard Nimoy’s voice) and sets up the ultimate showdown between the good Autobots and the bad Decepticons.

One other “warning”- this latest “Transformers” clocks in at 2 hours 37 minutes.

BackstageOL’s own Jake Hamilton sat down with the stars of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”. Check out his interview!
