You are probably asking…what’s with the “OL”?
Over the past few days everyone I’ve come in contact with has asked. Simple answer is it stands for “online”.
Now that we know what the name means, what exactly is this new entertainment resource? Wow, those are big words.
BackstageOL is a concept I’ve been pondering on for quite some time.
I’ve met a ton of people in the music industry that have inspired, entertained and pissed me off. Imagine that. By the way, there is more on the positive side of that statement.
It’s because of that passion and love for music that we present BackstageOL.com.
I say “we” because there is a team of us putting this show on for you. Check out “The Crew” section for a more detailed bio on the team here at BackstageOL.com. Let me say that each of us is here for one reason- giving you our perspective on all things entertainment.
Ruben Dominguez is one of the most fascinating music affionado I’ve ever met. He might as well have a PhD in the field. Serious. When we knew we were debuting this site with Billy Gibbons, he wrote me a doctorate on the guy. Someday I may post it. Ruben is also a great person and friend. I know we will all learn a lot from his contributions here.
Jake Hamilton is movies. He lives, eats and breathes flicks. He also knows and has interviewed just about every motion picture star alive. We’ll prove it here at BackstageOL. You will see Jake’s “Take” on movies in his own style of interviewing. He is also a great friend and when he told me he’d love to be a contributor on here I was thrilled and honored. I was also excited to learn that his first piece here would be about Tom Hanks. Not too shabby.
Jonathan Stenvall has been a great friend of mine for quite some time now. It was because of music that we met. He is one of those friends that make you argue about bands, albums and songs. Example- I think Guns N Roses rocks, he hates Axl Rose. That argument lasted awhile. In fact, it still may be going on. Jon is the “business” side of this since the rest of us are self proclaimed artistic geniuses. I can’t wait to read his first album review.
There are even more passionate and talented friends here on BackstageOL and you’ll get to know them in the coming weeks. I have to give a HUGE shout out to Raymond “Doc” Ramirez…dude can shoot video and produce a segment like no one else I’ve ever met. His talents run deep. He also has a funny Michael Jackson story about me- ask him.
We all know there a TON of sources for gossip and news. We want to give you our perspective and our behind the scenes look.
We hope we entertain you along the way.
It’s going to be an interesting ride and you will be here to experience it.
