‘Sharknado’ Video Game To Be Released Along With Sequel

Not only is Sharknado 2 premiering on the Syfy network on July 30, but a video game app based on the cult film will be arriving the same day.

In the game, users will travel through New York while “bouncing off the backs of tiger sharks and wielding chainsaws from inside the Sharknado,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The app, developed by Majesco Entertainment, will be available on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Jeff Li, VP of Syfy, would like the app to initially be released for free with users having the option to purchase different weapons to kill the sharks within the game.

“It’s instantly accessible to anyone young or old,” Li said. “I don’t care what your cultural background is, you don’t even have to follow the story. You don’t have to read the book. It’s Sharknado and you’re both excited and terrified.”
