BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Kate Mara and Gabriela Cowperthwaite in this backstage interview to talk about the upcoming drama Megan Leavey.

In the interview, the duo discuss what drew them to the film – which is based on a true story of a marine and her K9 – and what it was like to film with a dog.

Film synopsis:

When young Marine Cpl. Megan Leavey (Kate Mara) is assigned to clean up the K-9 unit after a disciplinary hearing, she identifies with a particularly aggressive dog, Rex, and is given the chance to train him. Megan and Rex complete more than 100 missions, but an IED explosion injures them and puts their fate in jeopardy.
