Interviews

Backstage With ‘LEGO Batman Movie’ Director Chris McKay

The LEGO Batman Movie is in theaters now!

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales takes you backstage with director Chris McKay for The LEGO Batman Movie, which sees Will Arnett back to voice Batman.

In the interview, McKay shares how long it took to complete the film (2.5 years) and the pressure of creating a sequel.

“There’s a lot of pressure from the studio, a lot of pressure from LEGO. The first movie we did kind of under the radar – and there were no expectations. Now, after that movie did well and people loved it… yeah, there’s a lot of pressure to make this movie better.”

Synopsis:

There are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.
