Kerry Washington Says ‘Cars 3’ Is About Coming Together

Scandal star joins the cast of Cars 3 as Natalie Certain.

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Scandal star Kerry Washington in this backstage interview to talk about the successful animated franchise, Cars 3.

In the interview, Washington shared how the film promotes female empowerment and is “about shattering expectations and coming together.”

The film’s synopsis:

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast cars, the legendary Lightning McQueen finds himself pushed out of the sport that he loves. Hoping to get back in the game, he turns to Cruz Ramirez, an eager young technician who has her own plans for winning. With inspiration from the Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns, No. 95 prepares to compete on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage.
