Samuel L. Jackson Loved Shooting ‘Kong: Skull Island’ In Hawaii, Australia & Vietnam

Kong: Skull Island thunders into theaters this Friday!

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with Samuel L. Jackson in this backstage interview to talk about his role in Kong: Skull Island, the sci-fi action reboot of the King Kong franchise.

In the interview, Jackson illustrated how he is a fan of the classics, why he thinks many people enjoy the story line and how he loved filming in tropical locations.

When asked what drew him to the film, the actor earnestly said with a smile: “Hawaii, Australia, Vietnam.” He continued to explain that while of course he was first drawn in to the story of King Kong and for the chance to fight the colossal ape, it was still all about “location, location, location.”

Synopsis:

When a scientific expedition to an uncharted island awakens titanic forces of nature, a mission of discovery becomes an explosive war between monster and man. Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman and John C. Reilly star in a thrilling and original new adventure that reveals the untold story of how Kong became King.
