‘The Accountant’: Cynthia Addai-Robinson Talks Working With J.K. Simmons

In the upcoming action thriller The Accountant, Ben Affleck takes on the role of an accountant who works for criminal organizations. Warner Bros. has released the following synopsis for the film:

Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.

BackstageOL’s Dave Morales sat down with star Cynthia Addai-Robinson to talk about the film. The actress, who was previously seen in The CW’s Arrow and the History Channel miniseries Texas Rising, has multiple scenes with Simmons, and she revealed what it was like to work with the Oscar-winning actor.

“It was really easy in a lot of ways,” Addai-Robinson said. “I mean, I know he plays really intense characters…and he sort of, you know, perfected that obviously with a few roles over the years, but…in real life, he’s just a really down to earth person and actor.”

“And he’s just really present, and so, you know, him being present, that makes it easy because you just really feel like you’re having a real, sort of exchange,” she added. “So, of course I was excited to work with somebody of his caliber and hopefully learn some things from him, and I think he does an amazing job in the film.”

The Accountant hits theaters Friday, October 14th. Watch the full interview with Addai-Robinson below:
