Will Smith: Fans Were Upset Over One ‘Suicide Squad’ Detail

Not only are the fans excited about the release of Suicide Squad this weekend, but stars Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, and Jay Hernandez are excited to be a part of the hype as well!

“It doesn’t happen with every movie,” Smith remarked of the excitement and energy surrounding the film’s release in an interview with BackstageOL’s Dave Morales. “And then when it does happen…you don’t know exactly why.”

In his role of Deadshot, Smith revealed there was some pressure in bringing the DC Comics villain to the big screen.

“Deadshot has never been committed to film before, so there’s a lot more creative license to get to commit the character to film,” Smith said. “But there’s things that are really difficult. So for example, in the comic book, Deadshot wore the monocle over his right eye…But I’m right eye dominant when I shoot, so I had to wear it over my left eye.”

Smith stated that fans weren’t too thrilled with the change. “It does get very, very serious,” he said.
