Kid Destroys Massive $15K Lego Sculpture

At a Lego show in southern China, a human sized sculpture of the con-artist fox from the animated Disney film Zootopia was revealed – and quickly destroyed in less than one hour.

The artwork, created by a Lego artist named Zhao, took three days to create and cost more than $15,000, CCTV said on its Facebook page. The artist chronicled his experience at the expo on social media, posting images that showed him building the Lego sculpture brick by brick and a final image of the sculpture in pieces.

The extravagant Lego creation was sent crashing to the ground by a 5-year-old shortly after it went on display. Zhao accepted the parents’ apology for the actions of their son, and said that he would not seek compensation for the damages.

According to CCTV, Zhao said, “The child did not intend to break it.”

In May, a similar incident happened at the Shanghai Museum of Glass. Two children damaged a pair of wings affixed to a glass angel. The sculpture, which was named “Angel is Waiting” by the artist, was later renamed to “Broken”, CCTV reported.
