New Project to Try to Bring the Dead Back to Life

Bioquark, a Philadelphia-based biotech company, has been permitted to attempt to regenerate the brains of dead people and bring them back to life in their ReAnima Project, according to the U.K.’s Telegraph. The National Institutes of Health in the U.S. and in India both approved the project.

The company will enlist twenty people who have been declared clinically dead and only kept alive through life support to test on. The clinical trial will take place at Anupam Hospital in India and will consist of trying a variety of methods, such as inserting stem cells and peptides into the brain and nerve stimulation. Researchers hope they will see the brain cells regenerate, similar to how some amphibians and reptiles are able to regenerate their limbs after injury. The treatment will last over six weeks.

“This represents the first trial of its kind and another step towards the eventual reversal of death in our lifetime,” CEO of Bioquark, Dr. Ira Pastor, stated.

“To undertake such a complex initiative, we are combining biologic regenerative medicine tools with other existing medical devices typically used for stimulation of the central nervous system, in patients with other severe disorders of consciousness,” Pastor added.

“We hope to see results within the first two to three months.”

Researchers are now looking for twenty subjects to be a part of the study.
