Bryan Cranston To Play Zordon In ‘Power Rangers’ Movie

Bryan Cranston announced on his social media that he has joined Lionsgate’s Power Rangers reboot.

The Breaking Bad star revealed that he would be playing the Rangers’ mentor Zordon. In the early 90s, Cranston voiced Snizard and Twin Man on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. After his time on the show, the Blue Ranger was given the last name Cranston to commemorate the actor.

The upcoming film is being helmed by director Dean Israelite and produced by Saban Brands’ Haim Saban and Brian Casentini, as well as Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill. It will follow the adventures of five high school students who must save the planet (which includes their town of Angel Grove) from alien destruction.

Playing the teens infused with superpowers are Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger. Elizabeth Banks is set to play Rita Repulsa, an evil humanoid alien witch bent on galactic domination.

The 90s adaptation hits the big screen on March 24th, 2017.
