Chris Hemsworth to Showcase Comedic Side in ‘Vacation’

Chris Hemsworth has decided to test his comedic skills in the upcoming comedy film Vacation, a reboot of the National Lampoon’s Vacation series from the 80’s.

In the film, Ed Helms will portray a grown-up Rusty Griswold, the son of Chevy Chase’s character Clark Griswold from the original film. He decides to take his family on a vacation similar to the one he took during his childhood. Christina Applegate has already signed on to play Rusty’s wife. Hemsworth, who is reportedly eager to do a comedy film, is expected to play Rusty’s brother-in-law, Stone Crandall, who is an up and coming anchorman.

Charlie Day from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will also be a part of the film, making a cameo as a river-rafting guide. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will also make cameos and reprise their original roles.

Vacation is expected to begin filming in September.
