Could Benedict Cumberbatch be the Next James Bond?

James Bond is not only a British hero, but a legend and sex symbol. When it comes to filling Bond’s shoes, this job does not come easy.  Fear not, Daniel Craig fans, he is still signed up to play Bond in the next movie, but due to his age, the time will eventually come when he must be replaced. This is where Benedict Cumberbatch from BBC’s Sherlock may step in.

Cumberbatch broke onto the big screen action scene after starring as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness.   Now there is talk he could take on the role of James Bond when Craig retires, seeing as he is British and already well known throughout Britain from his BBC series Sherlock with co-star Martin Freeman.  His stock in North America is on the rise as well thanks to his roles in Star Trek and The Hobbit.

In addition to being popular, Cumberbatch is attractive, smooth and charming.  Just imagine him as James Bond, in a suit, taking down bad guys, all the while keeping his smooth, charming look.

Should Benedict Cumberbatch be the next Jame Bond? If not, who would you like to see fill the Bond role next?
