Idina Menzel: A ‘Frozen’ Sequel is Coming

Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa in Frozen, sparked major excitement among fans after hinting in a recent interview that there will soon be a sequel to the tremendously popular Disney film.

When asked what she could say about the rumors of a Frozen stage musical and a sequel, Menzel told The Telegraph that they were “all in the works.”

The U.K. newspaper also asked her if she would be involved with either of the projects. “Ah, yeah sure…Not the stage show, I don’t know what will happen with that, but the movie hopefully,” Menzel said. “We’ll see.”

However, Menzel took back her comments regarding the making of a Frozen sequel when she appeared on the Today show Monday morning.

“You know, I have no idea — I just assumed that because it’s so successful that’s what they’re up to,” she explained.

It may be uncertain if there will be a sequel to the animated film, but Disney has confirmed there will be a six-minute short called Frozen Fever that will bring back the characters of the film. It will hit theaters in the spring of 2015.
