Jon Favreau to Reprise ‘Iron Man’ Role in ‘Spiderman: Homecoming’

Jon Favreau, who played Tony Stark’s personal driver Happy Hogan in the Iron Man films, is set to reprise his role in Marvel’s upcoming installment Spiderman: Homecoming.

Favreau directed Iron Man and Iron Man 2 and last appeared in a Marvel film in 2013 for Iron Man 3. He served as an executive producer for Avengers: Age of Ultron and is set to do it again for Avengers: Infinity War. Favreau most recently directed the box office hit The Jungle Book for Disney.

Robert Downey Jr. is also set to appear in Spiderman: Homecoming, which stars Tom Holland in the title role. Holland made his first appearance as Spiderman in Captain America: Civil War earlier this year. Spiderman: Homecoming will also star Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Logan Marshall-Green, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei, and Tony Revolori.

Jon Watts is directing the new adaptation, which is currently filming in Atlanta. Plot details have not yet been revealed, but the film will focus on Peter Parker when he’s in high school.

Spiderman: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7, 2017.
