‘Pain & Gain’ Brings the Hurt to the Charts

Michael Bay’s new film Pain & Gain starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson pumped the most iron at this weekend’s box office earning $20 million.  The film, based on a true story, will end up turning a nice profit, costing an estimated $25 million to make.

“Oblivion” stuck around at the top of the charts to take second place, earning $17.4 million.  “42” continues to earn well, taking third place with $10.7 million while “The Big Wedding” opened to a disappointing $7.5 million.  “Jurassic Park 3D” continues to proceed towards a total gross for the film’s entire release history with $400 million.

“Pain & Gain” and “G.I.Joe: Retaliation” now makes two films starring “The Rock” that are in the top ten earners.  Morgan Freeman has two films in the top ten as well with “Oblivion” and “Olympus Has Fallen”.
