‘Space Between Us’ Release Date Pushed Back to Avoid ‘Rogue One’

The release date has been pushed back seven weeks.

The science fiction drama The Space Between Us is soaring to a new release date.

It originally was set to be released December 16th, the same day as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Other competing films in December also include romantic musical comedy-drama La-La Land with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, Passengers with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, Mark Wahlberg’s Patriots Day, and Assasin’s Creed.

The Space Between Us will now arrive in theaters February 3, 2017 and its competition will be the horror film Rings and Same Kind of Different as Me starring Renée Zellweger.

In the film, a boy (Asa Butterfield) becomes the first person to be born on Mars. As a teenager, he visits Earth to search for his biological father, but discovers his body is unable to withstand Earth’s atmosphere.

The Space Between Us also stars Gary Oldman, Carla Gugino, and Britt Robertson.
