‘The Purge’ Scares Box Office Competition, Lands in No. 1 Spot

Ethan Hawke’s new thriller The Purge did not disappoint, earning the number one spot with $36.4 million at the box office over the weekend.  The Internship, starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as interns at Google, opened in a dismal fourth place with just $18.1 million earned while Fast & Furious 6 broke the $200 million mark.
