‘Thor’ Teaser Will ‘Ragnarok’ Rock You

Next to the Hulk, it would seem that Thor is like the red-headed stepchild of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His standalone adventures can’t compare to the likes of fellow Avengers Iron Man and Captain America. Even with a chiseled physique and sometimes flowing hair that would make Goldilocks jealous, Chris Hemsworth has been upstaged by the likes of Tom Hiddleston, who plays his nefarious half-brother Loki. However, if this first teaser is any indication, Thor: Ragnarok may be the Thor movie we’ve been longing to see.

Taika Waititi, the New Zealand filmmaker who did 2014’s What We Do in the Shadows and last year’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople looks to inject the latest Thor adventure with some much needed comedy. Ragnarok will see the returns of Idris Elba (Heimdall) and Jaimie Alexander (Sif), and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. New to the franchise, we have Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange.

Have a look and see if you think Marvel Studios has another winner on its hands this November. Bonus points for the inclusion of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.”
