‘Toy Story 4’ Plot Details Revealed

Looks like Toy Story 4 will not be continuing the story of the original trilogy.

In an interview with Disney Latino, Pixar’s president Jim Morris revealed that the sequel will have its own story that is different from Toy Story through Toy Story 3.

“The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy,” Morris said, according to SlashFilm. “I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind.”

“It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3,” Morris explained further. “Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie.”

Toy Story 3 concluded with Andy giving his toys away to a young girl named Bonnie. Morris’ comments indicate that Bonnie will most likely not have a huge role in the new film.

Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, the team who wrote Celeste and Jesse Forever, are penning the script. Toy Story 4 hits theaters June 16, 2017.
