First Look at ‘The Black Phone’

HOUSTON (BACKSTAGEOL)-With Halloween around the corner, the official trailer for The Black Phone has finally dropped. Get ready for a good horror movie coming soon!

Synopsis of ‘The Black Phone’

From the looks of the trailer, this horror film takes on a different perspective. Originally, the film is adapted from Joe Hill’s short story that is under the same name. The story follows a young boy named Finney who is forced to survive in a hostile household. Luckily, he can lean on his sister Gwen to have his back through it all. However, their relationship is tested after Finney gets abducted by a masked kidnapper. Nicknamed “The Grabber,” he famously terrorizes a suburban town in Colorado during the 1970s and lures children in by portraying a clumsy magician. Unfortunately, Finney becomes his latest victim.

Now here comes the unusual part. While stuck in the basement with very little resources and just a black phone on the wall, Finney must survive. His kidnapper taunts him with a ritualistic game before any torture can begin. Despite being informed that the phone does not work, it rings. On the other line seems to be supernatural voices of the Grabber’s previous victims who offer useful information for Finney’s survival. Meanwhile, Gwen investigates her brother’s abduction by utilizing her dreams as a resource to help find him.
