Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Call It Quits

After four years of marriage, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are calling it a quits. This comes as a shock for country fans as Blake and Miranda seemed like the perfect couple at award shows and they both professed their love for each other in interviews.

Blake and Miranda first met in 2005 during CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert, both say it was the first time they fell in love. They performed a cover of David Frizzel and Shelly West’s – “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma”, and the rest was history. While Miranda said she didn’t know what she was feeling at the time of their duet, it was instant chemistry between the two of them. Ever since the beginning of their ten year relationship, they’ve denied any issues between their marriage saying everything was great. They’ve maintained their marriage a secret for years, Blake has stated that “for her and I to sit here together, it’s just going to turn into something about our marriage and it’s all we got left that’s private, its she and I and our home….And we just want to keep it that way.”

According to TMZ , Blake filed for divorce two weeks ago in Oklahoma. Just like their marriage, they still would like to have their privacy stating “This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

Both artist are extremely popular in the country music scene. Blake Shelton is one of Country musics leading male artists. Songs like “Honey Bee” and ” Boys ‘Round Here” has led him to several certifies gold albums and five Grammy Award nominations. He gained true pop culture popularity as a judge in the reality TV show The Voice. Many call Miranda Lambert the current queen of Country. She holds four platinum albums and has two Grammy Awards for 2015 Best Country Album (“Platinum”) and 2010 Best Female Country Vocal Performance (“The House That Built Me”).
