Bono Pokes Fun at Bike Accident with Jimmy Fallon

After having to cancel their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in November after Bono was injured in a bike accident, U2 was able to reschedule and appeared on the show Friday night. For their original appearance in November, the group was supposed to have a week-long residency. To make up for it, U2 appeared for the entirety of Friday night’s show.

In a comedy sketch, Bono rode a bicycle for the first time since the accident alongside Jimmy Fallon. Bono ends up getting hit by a van multiple times. “I’m good Jimmy, just a few scratches,” he said in the clip. “I’m ready to do the show.”  The video reveals at the end it was the other U2 members – The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. – who were behind the wheel.

Earlier this week, U2 disguised themselves as street performers and sang some of their songs, including “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Desire,” on the Grand Central Station subway platform as part of a segment for the show. Once the group removed their costumes, a big crowd showed up.

Jimmy Fallon also shared a sneak peek of U2’s upcoming Innocence + Experience Tour.
