George Strait Comes Out Of Retirement, Shows Set for 2016

The last time country legend George Strait was on tour, it was his supposed farewell tour. His “Cowboy Rides Away Tour” was a two year long goodbye with Straight’s last stop being on June 7th, 2014 in Arlington, TX. It was a great send off as over a 100, 000 people packed AT&T Stadium to see the country legend perform one last time. From there on country fans thought they would never hear a new song from George Strait again.

Now fans can rejoice as the country legend released some news earlier today. During a press conference, the king of country announced he will be releasing his new album Cold Beer Conversations online this Friday. This will make Straight’s 28th studio album, his first in two years. His first single “Let It Go” was released in April, with his new single “Cold Beer Conversation” being released sometime this week.

This is what the country king had to say about his new record, “I’ve been working a little bit here and there, and I’m really proud of this new album that’s coming out … I think it’s a great record – I always say this; I think it’s one of the best records I’ve done. I always shoot for that.”

The news didn’t stop there as Strait also announced a series of shows in 2016. The country star stated that, “I wasn’t going to tour anymore, but I also said that I wasn’t retiring by any means and I still wanted to do some dates.” While he wont be touring around the United States, there is two sets of show dates in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first set of dates are in April 22nd – 23rd and the second set on September 9th-10th. The shows are scheduled to take place in the new Las Vegas Arena. Although the arena is yet to be completed, the venue should be ready in early 2016.

Ticket for the highly anticipated show will go on sale to the general public on October 2nd, 12 pm CT at StraitToVegas.com.
