Jay-Z Rocks Carnegie Hall!

Photo: USA Today

Jay-Z took the stage at a sold-out concert benefiting the United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation last night.  He is the second hip-hop act to perform at Carnegie Hall.

Jay-Z performed a multitude of hits in his two hour set, including “I.Z.Z.O.” to “Empire State of Mind.”  He was joined on stage by fellow New Yorkers, Alica Keys and Nas and was backed by an orchestra that included Questlove of The Roots.

Tickets ranged from $500 to $2,500 and the proceeds from the concert will help low-income students cover college costs. Students from Jay-Z’s foundation also attended the show.
