Kelly Clarkson Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Singer Kelly Clarkson gave birth to a baby boy named Remington Alexander Blackstock on Tuesday, April 12.

The original American Idol winner announced the news on Twitter Thursday:

Remington is the second child for Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson gave birth to daughter River Rose in 2014. She is also the stepmom of two children from Blackstock’s previous marriage.

In a conversation with Ellen DeGeneres on Twitter, Clarkson revealed they have nicknamed their son “Remy”:

The “Since U Been Gone” singer announced her pregnancy back in October at a concert in Los Angeles. “I was not planning on announcing this but I’m totally pregnant,” she had said during the show. “I didn’t want you to think I was on pills or something! Everything is great. I haven’t vomited yet, that’s a win!”

Due to her pregnancy, the pop star was unable to attend the series finale of American Idol last week. However, she pre-taped a medley of her hits which aired during the show. She also guest judged for Top 10 week back in February and gave an emotional performance of her current single “Piece By Piece.” Check it out below:
